Red Sox take Game 5, lead Series 3-2

The Boston Red Sox are now just one game away from winning the 2013 World Series after beating the St. Louis Cardinals 3-1 in Game 5 on Monday night.

Jon Lester helped lead the Red Sox to victory, pitching into the eighth inning and only giving up four hits. On offense, the Red Sox’s David Ortiz tied the record for nine consecutive times on base that was set by Billy Hatcher in 1990.

Boston will host Game 6 on Wednesday night at Fenway Park.
