Storm dumps more than 6 feet of snow in Upstate New YorkThe National Guard was activated around Buffalo, N.Y., on Tuesday as a storm dumped more than 6 feet of snow in the area.

The National Weather Service said that some areas of Buffalo suburbs were approaching 76 inches of snow Tuesday night, which is the record for snowfall over a 24-hour period anywhere in the U.S.
