Kellogg’s Defends Jon Stewart – Tells Catholic League To Snap Crackle Pop Off (VIDEO)

You might recall that a few weeks ago, Jon Stewart made a joke about the fact that Catholics, Republicans and Fox News were making a joke of our vaginas.

Here’s the video:

Well, that guy in his basement the Catholic League was offended, but not by the fact that women are becoming persona non-person. He is They are offended by a manger pictured in front of a woman’s vagina. Bill Donohue of the Catholic League had this to say:

This unprecedented vulgar assault on Christians cannot stand. If Jon Stewart doesn’t apologize, we will mount a boycott of his show’s advertisers. And we will enlist our allies in the Protestant, Jewish, Mormon and Muslim communities…

…The cover-up is revealing. This episode of “The Daily Show” was done to protest Fox’s alleged indifference to the “war on women,” and in doing so Stewart not only made a vulgar attack on Christians, he objectified women.

We are asking Stewart to apologize. If he does not, we will mobilize Protestants, Jews, Mormons and Muslims to join us in a boycott of his sponsors. Moreover, we will not stop with a boycott; there are other things that can be done to register our outrage. We are prepared to spend the money it takes to make this a nationwide issue, and we are prepared to stay the course.

One of the sponsors that Donohue has been pressuring is Kellogg’s (aka, the company that puts out a lot of great cereals for when you have the munchies at say…around 11:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Thursday).

Kellogg’s told Donohue to get over it and quit watching the Daily Show.

“We understand that our customers come from a variety of backgrounds, experiences, lifestyles, and cultures and we respect their individual decisions to choose the television programs that they deem acceptable for themselves and their families. Consumers speak most loudly when they vote with their remote control and change the channel or turn off the TV if a program does not fit their personal criteria.”

Donohue was livid.

In other words, Kellogg’s is telling Christians to shove it. But they made a mistake. We will now send the indefensible picture to their senior management and board, as well as to community leaders, religious and secular, throughout Battle Creek, Michigan. We are also calling for a national boycott of all Kellogg’s cereals. Moreover, I will notify the public via TV, radio and our website about their collapse of decency. This is just for starters. We have the time, money, and the determination to give Kellogg’s some free advertisement.

Hmmm. It might be time for some vitamin fortified sugary goodness.
