Obama Urges Congress To Stop Interest Rates On Student Loans

In a message directed at Congress, President Obama called Congressional action to stop interest rates on student loans from doubling on a “no-brainer” in a speech today. If Congress doesn’t act, interest rates on new loans will jump from 3.4 to 6.8%. The Obama campaign is also pushing the #DontDoubleMyRate hashtag on Twitter and repeatedly tweeting the number of days before Congress’s Summer recess.
