‘I don’t want to be so old that I can’t go’: Elon Musk Predicts SpaceX Rockets Will Send People To Mars In 10-15 Years

Elon Musk, the founder of space transportation company SpaceX, told BCC interviewer Jonathan Amos he estimates the company will be able to put a man on Mars in 10-15 years.
“I’m hopeful that we’ll be able to send our first person to Mars in the 10-15 year timeframe,” Musk said, saying 12 years was the most likely time mark. “We can’t wait too long, because I don’t want to be so old that I can’t go.”
Musk, also a co-founder of PayPal, made headlines earlier this year when his company’s Falcon 9 rocket and Dragon capsule supplied the International Space Station (ISS) with a resupply.
