Supermarket Collapse in Latvia kills 54

Three women rescued from 'slavery' after 30 years in London home - police

On thursday evening, a supermarket’s (Maxima) roof collapsed in Riga.

On the scene rescue workers and medical personnel had confirmed that at least 54 people have been killed, three of which are firemen.


Over 40 victims have been rescued. Firefighters have begun clearing the rubble but expect many more injuries due the fact the supermarket was open at the time of the collapse. The final toll may be higher.
